Manchester Airport is celebrating another monthly passenger number milestone - its third on the spin. And bosses said that at the same time, every passenger travelling through queued for less then 15 minutes before reaching security.

The airport said figures showed 1.9 million passengers flew into or out of the airport over the course of the month - a figure more than any other February on record. February this year was up 14 per cent on February last year numbers-wise, and above pre-pandemic levels.

"It is the first time the airport has reached that milestone across all its terminals since it started tracking passengers as they wait to get to security. The vast majority of passengers - 96 per cent - waited for less than five minutes."
