A man has been charged with the murder of a Scots woman found dead in a churchyard.
Colette Law, 27, from Greenock, was found dead in a tent after police were called to St Mary and St Nicholas Church in Lincolnshire, at around 9pm on Monday, July 17.
Police said Paul Neilson, 30, of no fixed address, was charged with the murder of Ms Law on Sunday evening, reports Lincolnshire Live.
A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson said on Sunday: "Neilson has been in police custody since his arrest, and was charged tonight. He remains in custody and will appear at Lincoln Magistrates' Court in the morning."
Colette's mum Patricia told the Record: "The last time I saw her face was the week before I went on holiday in April. Now, I am getting her back home in a box.
"I feel completely sick. No parent should ever have to bury or cremate their child."
Collete was the youngest of three siblings and had moved to Spalding in Lincolnshire at the end of May. It is understood she was living rough in a tent near the church before her body was discovered.
Paying tribute to her daughter, Patricia said she had the most infectious laugh and was the life and soul of the party.
The mum-of-three continued: "Her laugh was infectious - anyone will tell you that - and everyone laughed with her. She was the life and soul of the party.
"She loved karaoke and her favourite colour was purple. She loved to dye her hair shades of purple. Knowing she is never going to walk through that door again, that I won't hear her voice again, has broken me."
