A Scots man who went missing in Magaluf is now back home "safe and well" after a group of Irish holidaymakers found him and got him a taxi back to his hotel.
Iain Patterson, who lives in Hamilton, had been due to fly back home on Friday, July 21, after a one-week holiday to the Spanish island.
But his frantic family launched an appeal to trace him when he failed to meet his friend at the hotel and missed his flight back to Glasgow.
The 45-year-old had been out for drinks with pal James Sharp at Unique Mallorca but he decided to stay out to enjoy his last night while James went back to the hotel, Glasgow Live reports.
The following morning worried James was forced to go to the airport alone when he couldn't contact Iain.
He has now confirmed Iain is back home "safe and well" after a group of Irish holidaymakers saw an appeal and spotted him in Magaluf.
They got him a taxi back to his hotel and Iain flew from Magaluf to Manchester on Monday, July 24, before getting on a bus back home.
James, 35, said: "He managed to make it home last night, he is doing alright but is very tired. He is well and resting.
"We are very happy and so relieved that he is fine. We are very thankful for everyone’s help.
"To the Irish boys, thank you for your kindness."
