Manchester United legend Bryan Robson believes adding more goals to the squad could see his former side challenge for the Premier League title.

Marcus Rashford scored 17 of those but no one else in the squad managed double figures, and United have tailored their summer business accordingly. A world-class No.9 has been Ten Hag's priority for months, with Harry Kane initially earmarked as the prime target.

The club have moved away from Kane amid concerns that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will not listen to offers, but extensive talks with Atalanta over Rasmus Hojlund suggest a striker remains the priority. United will not pay more than £60million for the Dane, but Robson believes the addition of goals could be priceless.
“As a club we have a lot of hard work to do because Manchester City have set really high standards, which we did in the 90s and 2000s,” Robson told The Busby Babe. “We’ve got to get better to challenge them, I think we are under the new manager... but we know that we need a few more players to add some more goals to the team.
"If we can achieve that, I think with the organisation and discipline the manager instils in the players, I think we can really challenge.”
