A Scots man accused of killing his paralysed wife in the US has appeared in court for the first time.

A woman who was found dead on a major Scots road after being hit by several motors has been named by police. Officers rushed to the A90 Kingsway West in Dundee on Thursday, July 27, following reports a person had been struck by a number of vehicles.
Paramedics also attended and a 28-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She has now been named as Kimberly Bruce, also known as Kimberley Milne, from the local area. Detectives say her death is currently being treated as unexplained.
As part of their enquiries, they are appealing to a number of motorists who were in the area at the time of the incident.
In particular, cops are looking to speak to the occupants of a small white car and a dark-coloured Peugeot Partner or similar, possibly a taxi. Both vehicles were seen on the road around the time of Kimberly's death.
Sergeant Gordon Dickson of the Divisional Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Kimberly at this time as our investigation continues. We have traced a number of vehicles who were driving on the road at the time and spoken to drivers.
"Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and we are continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the area of the Kingsway West on Thursday, July 27, between 10.30pm and 10.4 pm.
“We are keen to speak to the occupants of a small white car and a dark-coloured Peugeot Partner or similar, possibly a taxi. Both of these vehicles were seen on the road around those times and I would ask the occupants to come forward as they may have witnessed something vital to our inquiry."
Information should be passed to officers through 101, quoting incident number 4314 of July 27.
