A Scot has won £1 million on the National Lottery thanks to a lucky dip bought on the competition's app - as organisers search for a second Scot who won the same amount.
The mystery man, known only as Mr M, matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball last month. The Lanarkshire resident plans to spend his windfall from the October 28 draw on a new home.
He became one of over eight million players that win each week on The National Lottery’s range of games. Interactive winners have the opportunity to remain anonymous, release their name, or release selected details through a partial publicity option.
News of his win comes 10 days after The National Lottery announced that it is on the hunt for a EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker winner from North Lanarkshire, who is sitting on a shop-bought ticket worth £1m.
With every EuroMillions line played, UK players automatically receive a EuroMillions Millionaire Maker code printed on their ticket, guaranteeing a millionaire in every draw.
The lucky North Lanarkshire winner bought their ticket for the EuroMillions draw on October 31 just a few days after Mr M won his prize online. But they have yet to check their ticket and claim their prize.
The winning code was VCVX 86421 and they have until April 28, 2024 to claim it.
