Sources tell Deadline that White is set to co-star opposite Zac Efron and Harris Dickinson in A24’s The Iron Claw where the three will play world famous wrestling siblings, the Von Erichs. White will play Kerry Von Erich, with Efron playing Kevin and Dickinson playing David.

Lowry Mays, the founder of Clear Channel Communications, which is now known as iHeartMedia, has died. He was 87. It was Mays’ alma mater, Texas A&M University, that announced the businessman had died on Monday but did not reveal the cause of death.

The satirical dark comedy, which won the Palme d’Or in Cannes just four months ago, had its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Tuesday night — just 15 days since the 32-year-old Dean died of an unexpected illness in New York on Aug. 29. “It’s a very emotional screening for us because of Charlbi Dean, our colleague, one of the main actors who passed away 15 days ago. We wanted her to be here, by our side, to share in this fantastic moment,” said Östlund during his introduction for the screening. He was joined on stage by stars Harris Dickinson and Dolly De Leon, who were clearly moved by the moment and hugged one another.

Charlbi had a care and sensitivity that lifted her colleagues and the entire film crew,” Ostlund wrote. “The thought that she will not be by our side in the future makes me very sad,” the director continued.  The up-and-coming South African actor, who died on Monday in New York from an unexpected illness, had a breakthrough performance in “Triangle of Sadness” which was about to begin its theatrical roll-out around the world. After winning the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival, “Triangle of Sadness” will make its North American premiere at Toronto and will play at the New York Film festival. Neon will release it in the U.S. on Oct. 8.

Thania Garcia On the heels of the release of her sophomore album, “Traumazine,” Megan Thee Stallion’s ongoing legal battle with Carl Crawford’s indie label 1501 Certified Entertainment continues. An amended complaint obtained by Variety and filed on behalf of Megan (real name Megan Pete) reveals that in addition to asking Harris County district court to determine that her 2021 release “Something for Thee Hotties” is an “album” as defined in her recording agreement, Megan is also requesting $1 million in damages from the label. In the complaint, Megan alleges that 1501 owes the amount due to their “underpayment of royalties” and for “wrongfully [allowing] for excessive marketing and promotion charges to be deducted from amounts owed to Pete under the recording agreement.”

Earlier this year Megan Thee Stallion took legal action against her label 1501 Certified Entertainment, LLC over the legal definition of an album as she seeks to exit their deal. As Rolling Stone reports, she has now amended the complaint and is seeking $1million in damages.
