Sane, who scored the first goal after a howler from Andre Onana, spoke to DANZ after the final whistle and he revealed the pre-match verdict from the Bayern dressing room on how their opponents might approach the game.
"The coach said it beforehand, they play a lot on the counter-attack," he said. "Especially when we were leading, we should have moved back more. We did well, but not for more than 90 minutes, then it would be easier for our defenders.
"We have to be aware that we are controlling the game. That has to come from us, we address it too. We have to become aware of this. At the end of the day, we’re delighted to win our first Champions League game of the season and get our first three points.
"The game was a bit wild. For the fans, it must have been fun with so many goals. Going forward it was great, but we also have to make fewer mistakes as a collective. There were a few too many tonight.
"When we’re 2-0 up, we need to bring a bit more calm into games to control matches."
