Erik ten Hag is not afraid to direct criticism at his Manchester United players when needed but rarely has he done so towards opposition stars.
However, he broke the mould when he said that Bayern Munich full-back Alphonso Davies was poor defensively. The German giants secured a 4-3 victory over United and now Davies has responded to Ten Hag’s pre-match comments.
Meanwhile, Gary Neville has shared his concerns about his former club following a stuttering start to the season. The Reds defeated Brentford 2-1 on Saturday thanks to a late Scott McTominay double but only after Andre Onana made another error for the visitors’ opener.

'I don't know why' - Davies replies to criticism Ten Hag
Davies refused to be drawn into a war of words and he delivered a classy response when asked about recent criticism from the United manager.
United began their Champions League campaign with a defeat against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena last month and Ten Hag started Facundo Pellistri on the right because he thought the winger was a good match for Davies.
Davies plays at left-back and Ten Hag described him as 'not a great defender' in his pre-match interview with MUTV.
