Jamie Carragher has blasted Andre Onana for angrily confronting a 'broken' Harry Maguire during pre-season.
The Manchester United goalkeeper reacted furiously during the 3-2 pre-season defeat against Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas after Maguire's loss of possession led to a shot on his goal. After the game, Onana explained how he holds all of his teammates to the highest standards but his actions got a mixed reception.
Maguire has been in the headlines again during the international break after scoring an own-goal during England's 3-1 win over Scotland. The 30-year-old has suffered a barrage of abuse online and was also mocked by the Hampden Park crowd during the game.

"I’m well aware of Onana being demonstrative at all his clubs, and I like the fact he communicates," Carragher tweeted. "But to carry on like that in a pre season game when you’ve been at the club two minutes, to the club captain, was way over the top.
"Any player worth their salt (Keane, Vidic, Rio, Stam…and me!) would have told him where to go and to get back in his goal. I felt he was trying far too hard to show the fans what he was about. The point was Maguire is that broken he didn’t say anything back. When he was well within his rights to do so."
In an interview shortly after the Scotland game, Maguire said he was 'bemused' by the attention on his current form and insisted he was able to cope with the pressure. The centre-back is yet to start for United this season but the pile-up of fixtures over autumn and winter could allow him a chance.
