Kelis Announces New Cannabis-Themed Netflix Cooking Show

Over a decade after their 2009 debut album II, Desire—the project fronted by Megan Louise—have announced their second album. It’s called Escape, and it arrives this summer via Italians Do It Better. Charli XCX has announced a new album. “I’m going to use this isolation time to make a brand new album from scratch,” she said in a video posted online today (April 6). “I’m only going to be able to use the tools I have at my fingertips to create all music, all artwork, all videos... everything—in that sense, it’ll be very DIY” Charli also said that the album is out May 15 and that its working title is how i’m feeling now. Greg Fox—the composer and virtuoso drummer for Ex Eye, Liturgy, Zs, and more— has announced a new album. Contact is out May 29 via RVNG Intl. The follow-up to 2017’s The Gradual Progression, Contact was produced and mixed by Randall Dunn. A portion of its proceeds will benefit the Dhamma Dharā Vipassana Meditation Center. Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever have announced their new album Sideways to New Italy. The Melbourne band’s new one is out June 5 via Sub Pop. They’ve released a video for their new song “She’s There.” Watch the Nick Mckk-directed visual below.

Nick Hakim has announced a new studio album, WILL THIS MAKE ME GOOD. It’s out May 15 via ATO. Hakim has also shared the new song “QADIR.” Watch its music video, directed by Nelson Nance, below.

An unreleased Drake track has recently picked up steam on TikTok, and last night, the OVO rapper announced that he will be putting the song out this Thursday. Titled “Toosie Slide,” the track is produced by OZ, who previously worked with Drake on songs like “U With Me?” and “Omertà.”

Inventions—the duo of Matthew Robert Cooper (aka Eluvium) and Explosions in the Sky’s Mark T. Smith—have announced their next album. Continuous Portrait arrives digitally May 29 via Temporary Residence Ltd. Craig Finn, frontman for the Hold Steady, has announced a new album called All These Perfect Crosses. He’s also shared its title track. The LP was recorded during Finn’s sessions from his most recent solo album, last year’s I Need a New War. The double album arrives June 20 (via Partisan) for the recently rescheduled Record Store Day. Noted great chef and food lover Kelis has announced that her new weed cooking show, Cooked with Cannabis, will drop on Netflix on — when else? — April 20, aka 4/20. As Pitchfork points out, the series will run for six episodes and sees professional chefs competing to win a $10,000 prize for the best weed-infused food.
