Prince William and Kate Middleton have decided to put their three kids first despite the growing pressure on them due to their highly active roles within the monarchy since becoming the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The news comes following media headlines that the couple have "turned [their] backs on Australia" amid claims that the country has been abandoned as part of the Royal Family's upcoming two-year tour of the Commonwealth, the Express reports.
Sources have suggested that King Charles himself has tried to persuade the couple to take on more royal duties but the parents have reiterated that their children will always remain their main focus, especially as they are "so young".
One source said: "William and Kate have been put in a very difficult position of choosing between the right path for their family or the future of the monarchy.
"Both are very important to them, but they have decided to put their children first while they are so young."
Kate and William are the proud parents to Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight and five-year-old Prince Louis.
Their eldest son, George who is second in line to the throne after his father Prince William is currently a student at Lambrook School and is expected to continue on with his studies at Eton College once he turns 13.
Speaking to OK!, the source added: "Kate is adamant that she doesn’t want to uproot the children during the school year.
"She feels it important that they are grounded and have their parents with them."
It was recently confirmed by Buckingham Palace that devoted mother Kate will no longer be attending a planned trip to Singapore next month with William for the 2023 Earthshot Prize.
