Justine Triet’s ‘Anatomy Of A Fall’ Sweeps European Film Awards Winning Best Film, Director, Screenplay & Actress For Sandra Hüller – Full Winners List

After taking the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in May, and releasing in theaters in October, Justine Triet’s “Anatomy of a Fall” is now available to rent or buy online on Prime Video and Apple TV.

On Sandra Hüller’s wall is the first piece of art she ever owned: a photograph she bought from a shop in Munich. “I won’t say its name,” she says archly, “because that would be advertising.” It’s a dynamic, joyous image showing the ensemble cast of Stravinsky’s ballet The Rite of Spring as staged by Pina Bausch, the German choreographer famous for saying, “Dance, dance, otherwise we are lost.” “I just love it,” Hüller says admiringly, turning her head for another look. “These people are all making the same movement, as you can see. But everybody is doing it completely differently. They have the same task, but you can see each personality in the way they’re doing it. I love it so much. It’s like they’re almost flying.” It explains a lot about Hüller and her craft.

The Sundance Film Festival is celebrating its 40th anniversary in January and it’s no surprise that some legendary Park City filmmakers are returning with new films for the 2024 edition. Due to the postponement of this year’s edition of the Cairo Film Festival, which hosted the awards ceremony in previous years, the announcement of the winning film will take place during the sixth edition of the El Gouna Film Festival, which is scheduled to run from Dec.

Deadline’s Read the Screenplay series spotlighting the year’s most talked-about scripts continues with Neon’s murder mystery Anatomy of a Fall. The Cannes Palme d’Or winner from French filmmaker Justine Triet (only the third woman ever to take that top prize) is co-written by Triet and Arthur Harari. Last week, it scooped Best International Feature and Best Screenplay at the Gotham Awards.
