Mason Greenwood could return to international football in the future after Jamaica seemingly left the door open for the Manchester United striker to switch allegiances.
Greenwood - out on loan at Spanish side Getafe this season - will not play for United again after the club decided it would be best for the footballer to continue his career elsewhere. The 22-year-old was suspended by United in January 2022. Greenwood faced allegations of attempted rape, assault and coercive control.
In February this year, The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed all charges against Greenwood had been dropped. The player has always denied the allegations.

A lengthy internal investigation was conducted by United and it was determined it would be better for Greenwood to continue his career elsewhere. Since moving to Getafe on loan on deadline day, the forward has made four appearances - with one assist to show for his efforts over 170 minutes.
Greenwood was capped once by the England national team in 2020. However, the striker would be able to switch allegiances in the future, potentially, as that outing came before a rule change from FIFA.
Indeed, while Greenwood appeared in a competitive match - against Iceland in the Nations League - the new rules state players can still switch allegiances if they have not played more than three competitive games before turning 21. Greenwood only 18-years-old when he made his international debut.
