Coronation Street's Chesney Brown, played by Sam Aston, isn't the only member of his family to have walked the cobbles. The actor, who has been playing Chesney since he was just 10 years old in 2003, has two siblings who have also appeared on the popular ITV soap. His older sister Emily, now 40, starred in 51 episodes between 1996 and 1997 as Rebecca Palmer, daughter of Claire Palmer, who was Des Barnes' girlfriend at the time.
The mother-daughter pair lived with Des during Claire's relationship with him, and despite initially struggling with the loss of her father, Rebecca eventually accepted Des as part of her family. However, Claire and Des split up a year later. Since leaving Coronation Street, Emily has appeared in shows like Where the Heart Is, Blackpool, Funland, Robin Hood, Doctors and Heartbeat.
But that's not all - Sam and Emily's younger brother Joseph also had a stint on the show. He appeared in 2000 as the grandson of Jack and Vera Duckworth, in a storyline involving a custody battle after his mother's death, with both sets of grandparents wanting to take on the parental role. Soap star Sam talked about whether he might leave Corrie after being on the show for nearly 20 years.
He was on Loose Women and Janet Street-Porter asked him if he thought about leaving the soap soon. She asked: "Is there any chance you could suddenly branch out and be somebody else or is that character and you so closely intertwined now? ". Sam answered: "I've played him for so long, but I've been lucky, because I've had so many storylines over the years that they always test you and it's a new thing to sink your teeth into." "So, I've not really entertained the idea right now.
