One of the more unusual criminal investigators is back for a third series this week, and plenty of fans are thrilled at the return of Professor T. The titular Prof is played by Ben Miller and the series brings the issues of living with neurodiversity to mainstream TV.
Kicking off back in 2021, Professor T was filmed on location in Belgium and Cambridge. Based on the hit Belgian series of the same name, Professor T was originally set against the backdrop of Cambridge University.
Professor T himself is an eccentric, but brilliant criminology professor Jasper Tempest, played by Ben Miller, who has OCD - obsessive compulsive disorder - and has a tortured past.

Professor T is a Criminology Professor known as Jasper Tempest. Played in the series by actor and comedian Ben Miller, the neurodivergent character has OCD and also a tortured past.
Although a valuable contributor to the police force, people who don’t know Jasper struggle with his behaviour. Professor T’s relationship with the world often leads him to daydreams and fantasies about the people around him, and the viewer is privy to these sequences.
When the series began in 2021, Ben said: “Professor T has it all: intriguing murders, dreaming spires, and a cast of unforgettable characters, each with their own fascinating secrets. You don’t have to be a professor of criminal psychology to know the ITV audience will love it.”
