A courtroom drama that's set to enthrall crime TV fans, The Twelve is coming to ITV and ITVX this week. It's not just good telly with a tightly-plotted storyline and real gasp-out-loud moments - it also stars bona fide screen legend, Sam Neill.
The Jurassic Park star dons the QC wig in this drama telling the story of 12 ordinary Australians selected for jury duty in a murder trial as traumatising as it is controversial. It's based on a Belgian series which screened earlier this decade.
Watching the trial unfold as a woman stands accused of killing her teenage niece, behind the façade of their anonymity 12 ordinary people bring with them their own histories. Lives that are as complex as the trial, full of fractured dreams, shameful secrets, hope, fears, personal trauma, and prejudice.

What is The Twelve about?
It's about the murder trial of a woman suspected of killing her niece as seen through the multiple lenses of 12 jurors. The series is intended to show the fragility and imbalances of the law, and the chaotic and flawed way we attempt to determine justice in society.
The Twelve begins on the first day of jury selection in the complicated trial. Kate Lawson's fourteen-year-old niece went missing from her care leaving even her own family divided - but a body has never been found and it isn’t clear what motive she would have for killing her.
