Gogglebox stars Mary Killen and Giles Wood have been fan-favourites ever since they joined the Channel 4 show back in 2015, but it is their newest family member that has really won over viewers. During the latest episode of the hilarious commentary show, the pair, who are based in Wiltshire and have been married for more than 30 years, introduced their adorable dog Merlin, who quickly melted the audience's heart.
Giles was seen singing happy birthday to Merlin as the pooch cheekily stole his iconic armchair for a seat. Mary, who was sitting next to the dog, then jokingly told him: "He won't understand you." Fans then quickly rushed to social media and gushed over how excited they were about Merlin's much-welcomed surprise debut.
One user penned: “Oh Giles, you know I love it when you sing happy birthday #Gogglebox.” Another agreed: “Happy Birthday Merlin #Gogglebox” as a third laughed: “Even the dog looks like Mary #Gogglebox.” And this isn't the only surprise for Gogglebox fans recently as former show star Stephen Lustig-Webb revealed he is set to compete against the likes of Miles Nazaire and Amber Davies in the upcoming series of Dancing on Ice which returns in January. However, he 52-year-old reality star admitted to OK! on the red carpet at this year's Pride of Britain Awards that he was already worried about his performances on the ice.
"[I've got] absolutely no rhythm and no balance," he said before the glitzy event and was accompanied to the awards by his husband of five years, Daniel Lustig-Webb. "I start training tomorrow.
