Josie Gibson 'betrayed' as This Morning introduce new host to replace Phillip Schofield

Josie Gibson has been feeling betrayed by ITV bosses after being side-lined in favour of Ben Shephard.
The former Big Brother star stepped up to the plate and hosted This Morning alongside Holly Willoughby in the wake of the Phillip Schofield scandal. Phillip admitted to an 'unwise but not illegal' affair with a colleague on This Morning after stepping down from the role he held for over two decades.
Since Holly returned to This Morning following her extended summer break, she has been joined by a rotating cast of presenters including Josie, Alison Hammond, Dermot O'Leary, Craig Doyle and most recently Ben Shephard. Now it's been reported ITV bosses are keen to lock in a replacement for Phillip, leaving Josie feeling used.
Ben previously stepped in on This Morning between 2005 and 2011, and from 2015 onwards and has a regular gig hosting Good Morning Britain with Susanna Reid. The beloved TV star is said to be feeling torn between the shows, while Josie feels 'betrayed' bosses appear to be lining up Ben as Phil's permanent replacement.
A source tells Closer: “Ben’s polished performance has certainly ruffled a few feathers behind the scenes on This Morning. Josie and Alison can’t help but feel a little side-lined as it now seems ITV bosses are hopeful to get a big-name star like Ben to replace Phil’s slot. It leaves their roles on the show slightly uncertain.
“Josie in particular has been feeling a bit betrayed as she’s been widely praised with helping the show earn back trust from the viewers, having a great rapport with Holly and just being her bubbly and genuine self. But now it seems as though that could all be short-lived, especially if producers plan on getting Ben on the sofa full-time.”
