Fans say 'sorry' over Gorka Marquez update as they reassure star after Strictly Come Dancing axe

Fans have said 'sorry' to Gorka Marquez as he shared one of his first updates since his exit from Strictly Come Dancing. The Spanish dancer and his celebrity dance partner Nikita Kanda were eliminated from the dance competition on Sunday (October 8) following week three of the 2023 series.
The couple faced elimination for the second consecutive week on the BBC show after their movie week jive on Saturday night (October 7). BBC Asian Network presenter Nikita and her professional dance partner were seen channelling 90s film Clueless and scored 21 from the judges.
Following the public vote, faced Love Island star Zara McDermott and her partner Graziano Di Prima, who had scored 25 for their Puss In Boots paso double, in the dreaded dance-off.

Both couples performed their routines again in a bid to impress the judges. However, it was former Love Island star Zara who was saved by all four judges after Motsi Mabuse said Nikita had made "a few mistakes that were quite visible" while Anton Du Beke agreed "there were a couple of small mistakes".
Nikita quickly became emotional as she told co-host Tess Daly that she did not want to leave and felt she had let her professional partner Gorka, 33, down who she said had been the "biggest support". She then told Tess: "I’ve had the best time and I love all my Strictly family, I’m going to miss you all. This has been a dream come true, I’m so grateful."
