More European countries could scrap tests for fully vaccinated arrivals in the coming days, according to reports.
France has revealed plans to drop its requirement for vaccinated UK travellers to show proof of a negative Covid test on arrival.
The change will most likely be rolled out to the European Union for fully vaccinated arrivals from outside the bloc.
Speaking on Tuesday, France’s Europe minister Clément Beaune said the change would be announced in the 'coming days' but did not give details on an exact date.
He told France 2 television: "In the coming days we will announce that tests are no longer needed for vaccinated people.
"This week there will probably be a new European protocol for vaccinated people arriving from outside the EU, with eased measures."
Double-jabbed arrivals in France must currently show a negative lateral flow or PCR test result taken within the previous 48 hours.
The country could follow the footsteps of Spain who no longer require fully-vaccinated travellers to undergo Covid testing on arrival or show proof of a test.
Greece and Portugal also announced they had dropped negative Covid-19 test requirements on entry.
Norway has also eased its restrictions and travellers no longer need to test when they arrive.
EU countries agreed on January 25 to better coordinate their travel rules for tourists crossing borders.
The move is a major boost for holidaymakers hoping to get away during the school half-term break in February.
It comes as France joined Spain and Denmark last week by changing vaccine rules, requiring anyone who completed their jabs more than nine months ago to have a booster to enter.
