If you thought your brew-making routine was weird, wait until you hear how the royals do it. Behind palace doors, our Royal Family has a list of strict rules when it comes to food and drink. From banned foods like garlic and shellfish, to eating every last crumb of cake - the Queen has some unusual habits of her own.
Prince Charles, meanwhile, has very high standards when it comes to a good brew, expecting staff to serve it at a very specific temperature. A palace cuppa uses only the good stuff.
“A perfect royal brew should use organic honey instead of sugar which is added to the teacup before the tea is poured in,” Mr Samson explained. When it’s finally time to serve it, staff don’t just pop the tea cup down in any old fashion - it must be placed ‘just so’ on a surface. “There are specific details about how the teacup should be positioned - the handle of the teacup must be placed to the right, with the teaspoon under the handle.” Royal rules
