Last night The Queen announced the Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall will be known as the Queen Consort when Prince Charles becomes king.

Charles and Camilla were “touched and honoured” by The Queen’s gesture, Clarence House said.
The Queen Consort is the title given to the wife of the reigning king of the UK.

Prince Phillip, who was the consort to The Queen, did not see state papers or hold official audiences, the Buckingham Palace website states.
The Duke of Edinburgh supported The Queen in her programme of public engagements and ceremonial duties from visiting local charities to hosting Heads of State during state visits.
