In a heartfelt expression via the digital platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Usher highlighted the announced closure of esteemed restaurant Green's in Didsbury - which is set to close after 33 years due to increased rent by 35%, and rising costs that have made it "impossible" to continue.
In the video, Gary Usher said: "What a sad day in restaurants. Simon Rimmer has just announced he's closing Green's after 33 f****** years. How can it not work after 33 years?

Expressing deep concern, Usher highlighted the imminent threat looming over the restaurant industry. He emphasised the need for intervention and support, especially for those establishments burdened with debt accrued during the pandemic.
He continued: "I'm not an economist or politician - but it's literally staring us in the face that restaurants aren't f****** working and we need help from the government. Particularly restaurants that have gone through the pandemic and taken debt to get through the pandemic and are now paying it back at f****** ridiculous rates.
"Restaurants that went through the f****** energy issue of paying like we did £400 a day for one rural pub - sorry about the language but f****** hell I'm watching businesses close in front of me like you are.
