Ever since soap serial killer Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) began her reign of terror in the Emmerdale village, fans have been very vocal. First, viewers of the ITV soap aired their frustrations at the local police for letting her plot and scheme without consequence. Then they commented on the fact that Meena’s victims were running straight into her murderous trap before she killed them. Fans were confused as Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger) escaped her home after Meena confronted her - only to go in the direction of the quietest part of the village.
Meanwhile, Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) was scared for her life when Meena began chasing her during Super Soap Week. But instead of getting help, Andrea ran straight into the maize maze, which eventually burnt down. Now, Emmerdale has addressed their critics head-on in a clever, tongue-in-cheek scene involving Meena. During Wednesday 16 February’s episode of the show where it looked as if Meena had finally got her comeuppance, Leanna’s dad Liam (Jonny McPherson) began to chase her to get his revenge. But during their confrontation, Meena stopped and told him: “You know, it's funny.
I've been so judgemental about how stupid people are when I'm chasing them – now look at me! Just like Andrea, running right into that maze.” The menacing character continued: ”Leanna was the stupidest, though. No offence.” “The thing is, she really should have screamed the place down. That would have helped.” ”Also, running away from the village wasn't ideal. Did make my life a lot easier, though.” She added in a final cutting remark: “The kicker though were the shoes – the killer heels.
