Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe admits he has not yet settled on his starting line-up for the Carabao Cup game against Manchester City on Wednesday night - but will make changes.
A jaw-dropping win in their latest Premier League match - where they scored eight goals against Sheffield United on Sunday afternoon - means Newcastle are flying with confidence before the St. James' Park meeting (8pm) with a place in the fourth round at stake. But their opponents have had more time to recover.
City defeated Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon - over 24 hours before Newcastle played - and Howe says that alterations will be necessary. However, the manager will still respect the competition after the Magpies got to the final before losing to Manchester United at Wembley last season.

During his pre-match press conference, Howe said: "We will use the squad. It's not finalised in my brain yet what we're going to do [with the team].
"I need to assess everybody, physically, first from match that we've had. There's a couple of players carrying certain things, so we'll need to manage that."
He continued: "It's an important competition for us. We will give it every importance, we will try as hard as we can to progress because we want to try to compete in every competition. We're certainly not dismissing it as anything other than the most important game."
Newcastle will be without summer signing Harvey Barnes (toe) for the game and the former Leicester winger will be absent for months rather than weeks. Joelinton (knee), Joe Willock (hamstring), Emil Krafth (knee) are the other players
