EastEnders actress Melissa Suffield was forced to make an unexpected trip to hospital after suffering a painful ankle injury at her home. The 29 year old actress, who is best known for playing Lucy Beale in the long running BBC soap, shared the news with fans on Instagram as she made the frantic trip to A&E to receive treatment after tripping over one of her one year old son’s toys.

A former EastEnders star has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of an alleged "large-scale" fraud. The actress, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, is said to be the subject of an investigation by the police's specialist anti-organised crime department.The Sun has reported that the suspect in question was held during the early hours of Friday morning after a raid in East London.

EastEnders' Nancy Carter star Maddy Hill has announced that she has left the BBC One soap just one year after she reprised her role in Albert Square. During Thursday's episode, Nancy made a surprise departure from Walford after learning that her boyfriend Zack Hudson had cheated on her with Sam Mitchell. Prior to her exit, Zack proposed and Nancy considered forgiving him before a chat with her mother Linda Carter, where she spotted a bottle of vodka, made her realise that she can't trust anyone.

Jessie Wallace has been “urged to slow down” by her friends in the wake of the EastEnders star being arrested over the weekend for allegedly drunkenly assaulting a police officer. A statement issued to OK! Online by Suffolk Police at the time read: "A 50 year-old woman was arrested early on Sunday morning in St Andrew’s Street, Bury St Edmunds, on suspicion of assaulting a police officer/drunk and disorderly conduct and was released without charge after receiving a conditional caution." Images later surfaced showing the moment Jessie, 50, was restrained as arrested. The soap star had been at a Madness concert on Saturday night in Suffolk, before heading out to the Flex night club in Bury St Edmunds.

EastEnders is about to have a major shake-up throughout the summer in how the show is broadcast.
