EastEnders star Brian Conley has seemingly fallen out of love with the role of Tom 'Rocky' Cotton, and will depart the BBC soap later this year. First appearing back in May 2021, Rocky became a major player amongst the denizens of Walford after tying the knot with Gillian Taylforth's character Kathy Beale. But according to The Sun, the show's writers are now scrambling to come up with a worthy ending for him and may even be tempted to bump Rocky off in the Christmas murder plot.
"Brian was a brilliant signing and has been a big hit with fans. But it looks as though he’s just not enjoying being on EastEnders any more — and has been telling a lot of colleagues and telly friends he wanted out for a while," an EastEnders insider said. "At the National TV Awards last week he was pretty open with co-stars and friends about his exit." Apparently, a different character was originally going to meet their maker across the festive period, but it's now believed that Rocky could replace them.
OK! approached representatives for EastEnders, but they declined to comment.
