EastEnders in crisis as Brian Conley 'quits' show after 'bitter' spat with bosses

EastEnders has reportedly been hit with a huge blow as one of its top stars has sensationally quit the show and demanded BBC bosses axe his character from Walford as soon as possible.
Reports have suggested fan favourite Brian Conley, Thomas 'Rocky' Cotton, has walked from the soap after clashing with producers.
The dramatic exit of the popular actor and comedian, who first joined the popular soap in 2021, has allegedly left those working behind the scenes with 'headaches' and has plunged the show into chaos, according to The Sun, as a nearly year-long plot could be ruined by his impulsive decision.
The Sun reports show writers are now rushing to try and fit his departure into the big Christmas storyline they have planned for the end of the year.
There has been much speculation over the identity of the unknown male body which viewers saw in 'flash forward' scenes back in February ahead of a storyline to take place over Christmas. The Sun reports that Brian's character will be killed off instead of the person who was planned.
The news comes as a TV source told The Sun: "Brian was a brilliant signing and has been a big hit with fans. But it looks as though he’s just not enjoying being on EastEnders any more — and has been telling a lot of colleagues and telly friends he wanted out for a while.
"He seems delighted he’s got his own way. The Beeb wanted him to stay, but he’s having none of it. The truth is, bosses are furious. They’d made so many plans around him and his character, and they really thought he was in for the long haul. There has been a lot said in private about him messing up their plans.
