EastEnders fans have heaped praise on the BBC One soap for the impressive stunt pulled by the cast at the National Television Awards on Tuesday, 5 September. The majority of the EastEnders cast attended the annual awards bash at London's O2 Arena, with the soap taking home the award for Serial Drama, while stars Danielle Harold and Bobby Brazier also both walked away with gongs. However it wasn't just the soap's wins that fans were impressed by, as many were interested in the way the cast promoted the upcoming 'whodunnit?' Christmas storyline on the red carpet.
The storyline, which will take centre stage during the festive period, focuses on 'The Six' - Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth). The six actresses attended the NTAs together and walked the red carpet wearing the exact same colours they are each wearing in the promo shots for the Christmas storyline.
They also made sure they were standing in the same positions as the promo photos on the red carpet. Fans were left impressed by the stunt and took to social media to praise the EastEnders team.
One fan tweeted: "This kind of coordination? Obsessed #EastEnders," alongside snaps of the six actresses. "The six wearing their colours!!! #EastEnders," another person excitedly penned, as a third said: "The six and everything about them last night was just INCREDIBLE!!! #ntas #eastenders". It wasn't only 'The Six' involved in the stunt either, as several male cast members got involved.
