Drivers have been issued with an 'amber severe' travel alert amid Storm Isha, with National Highways providing a full list of high-risk roads likely to be affected.
Winds of up to 80mph will swoop in on Sunday (January 21), potentially causing power cuts and loss of mobile phone signal, while roads and bridges are likely to be shut and transport services could face delays and cancellations in some areas.

National Highways has now issued an Amber Severe Weather alert for gales in the south west, south east, east midlands, West Midlands, north west and north east regions of the country from 6pm on Sunday until 3am on Monday (January 22). Drivers are being asked to plan ahead and check for traffic and road closures on Sunday.
"Road users are advised to check ahead and plan for disruption to their journeys before they travel," the update said. "There is a particularly high risk that high-sided vehicles and other 'vulnerable' vehicles such as caravans and motorbikes could be blown over."
