Coronation Street viewers fume over Paul Foreman blunder as they call out 'disability issues'

Coronation Street fans have been left confused following scenes involving wheelchair bound Paul Foreman, who is battling motor neurone disease. In Tuesday's (23 January) episode of the ITV soap, Paul (Peter Ash) headed on a trip with his mum Bernie (Jane Hazelgrove) and sister Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell).
The trio set off out of Weatherfield in a caravan, but they were soon stopped in their tracks as Bernie managed to get them lost.
The family had no directions or phone signal, and their vehicle had unfortunately got stuck in some mud - leaving them stranded. One scene showed Paul outside the caravan in his wheelchair, which appeared to remain unaffected by the mud, leaving ITV viewers puzzled.
Many took to social media to question the scenes, with one saying: “So @itvcorrie if the camper van is stuck in the middle then how come Paul’s wheelchair isn’t stuck as well.” A second person tweeted: “Shouldn’t Paul be inside the van before he gets stuck in the mud??" Others questioned how Paul had got in and out of the vehicle, which appeared to only have one small door. One person commented: “How the heck did they fit Paul’s wheelchair through that little door on the camper van?” Another fan added: “How in the name of disability is Paul getting in and out of that c**p wagon?" and somebody else said: "There were so many disability access issues with Paul (wheelchair user) in a camper van on #Corrie it for me totally undercut the drama of the whole MND storyline.
