Huge Coronation Street character to return after 16 years

The lives of Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) and Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) have been turned upside down on Coronation Street.
The arrival of Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) has spelt trouble for them both with Liam becoming the victim of bullying and Dylan being pushed to take part in fear of being a target himself. Now, they’re not the only ones getting involved. Sean Tully (Antony Cotton) discovers his son’s part in tormenting Liam and is horrified.
He and Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) soon come to blows over their children. But Dylan’s part in the bullying also calls for a character return - Violet Wilson, Dylan’s mum played by Jenny Platt. Dylan was the result of a pact between pals Violet and Sean to have a baby together so Violet could have a child.
Violet gave birth to Dylan in the Rovers Return back in 2008. “After 16 years, Jenny Platt [who plays Violet] is coming back,” Antony says. “She won’t return permanently but, at the end of the day, she’s Dylan’s mum.
“I’ve always remained in touch with Jenny so I’m excited to see her. When she was on the show before, the internet barely existed – isn’t that mad? People had BlackBerries, no smart phones. So much has changed.” While Sean has called in reinforcements, what he doesn’t realise is that both Liam and Dylan are victims of Mason, with Dylan only taking part in the torment so he doesn’t become a target himself.
“Sean isn’t reading between the lines,” sighs Antony. “He’s seeing the very basics of what’s being presented to him – and the truth of it is Mason is a bully. “Unfortunately, that’s how I imagine a lot of parents come unstuck because as long as their kids say they weren’t doing this or that, what else do they have to go off?” In 2011, Dylan was played
