Coronation Street favourite Alan Halsall has shared a glimpse into his recovery after undergoing reconstructive surgery on his ACL, following an injury. The actor, 41, who is famed for his portrayal of Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, underwent the procedure in November and had been taking a break from Corrie as he recovered. He returned to filming on 11 January.
Alan is continuing to work on getting back to full strength and has shared clips on Instagram of his rehab sessions. In one video, he could be seen taking part in a weight exercise to build up strength in his left leg. He added stickers to the clip, including ones that read 'ACL Rehab' and 'on track' as he showed fans what he's been getting up to away from Corrie.
In November, Alan announced he'd undergone surgery to fix an ACL injury - where two ligaments cross in the middle of the knee, connecting the thighbone to the shinbone, helping to stabilise the knee joint. He shared a snap of himself in bed resting and gave a thumbs up to the camera. Alan penned: "ACL Reconstruction surgery.
Well, On Friday I underwent ACL reconstruction surgery. I have been told the surgery went really well. I know I have a long 9-12 months of rehabilitation ahead of me but I’m sure with the support of family & friends I’ll get there." The actor went on to add: "Thank you to the amazing! Staff at Oaklands xx...
and also Thanks to my very own nurse Ratched @missdrewmerry93. Any rehab tips or advise??" Alan's procedure saw his character Tyrone exit Coronation Street in December.
Tyrone went to see his wife Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) in Norfolk, where she'd been working, along with their children. Actress Jennie, 39, has been on maternity leave after welcoming her third child with husband Chris
