Coronation Street star Colson Smith, known for his role as Craig Tinker on the cobbles, has opened up to his fans in a post on social media where he admitted he has a huge fear of ageing ahead of him turning 25 this weekend.
The actor took to his Instagram page with a rather glum-looking selfie which he shared with his 180k followers as he failed to crack a smile, with the 24-year-old writing: "I turn 25 this weekend. I'm not okay with it," ahead of his milestone birthday this Sunday.
But he did find a positive note, in that his birthday comes a week after he marked 12 years in Weatherfield as he shared a throwback snap where he looks almost unrecognisable as a kid on the set, reports Manchester Evening News.
It shows him more than a decade younger as Craig, cradling a handful of biscuits. Captioning the post, Colson wrote: "12 years of my pal Craig Tinker #TINKS". In a comment, the actor added: "That’s half of my life by way."
And his co-stars rushed to the post, including former on-screen girlfriend actress Ellie Leach, who wrote: "Craigy," as he comically responded "He’s still sat sulking in the salon flat," referring to his character's recent heartbreak after she left him for her ex.
David Platt actor Jack P. Shepherd simply added: "Iconic," while former Bethany Platt actress Lucy Fallon echoed her on-screen uncle's comment and posted: "Iconic x".
Meanwhile, Tony Maudsley, who plays George Shuttleworth, added: "Love this! There's nowt in life that a Jammy Dodger can't fix!!" as Andy Whyment, famed for starring as Kirk Sutherland, sweetly wrote: "It’s a pleasure to work with you, mate." And Corrie used its own social media account to simply add: "Hero."
Last month fans were delighted to see Colson switch up his look as he
