Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney has shared her 'wish' for her character to get a 'snog' in the New Year as she opened up about her character's latest predicament on the cobbles. The actress made her debut in the ITV soap as Cassie Plummer earlier this year.
Her casting was revealed back in April and she made her first appearance in June as Tyrone Dobbs' real mum and the daughter of Evelyn Plummer. During her first scenes, Cassie was seen having tracked down her mum to the street but when Evelyn spotted her, she ignored her.
Later, Evelyn received a call and was seen hurrying into A&E reception, explaining that her daughter had been admitted as an emergency after she overdosed. The pair then entered into an emotional confrontation as Cassie revealed she knew that she was living with Tyrone and had been keeping him from her for all these years. And things reached a heartbreaking climax when Evelyn emotionally confessed that Tyrone thinks his mum is dead.

Cassie has, however, exposed the truth and got her feet under the table at No.9 Coronation Street with her son and grandchildren, even though it almost saw Evelyn cast out of her family.
Speaking about Cassie's progress with Tyrone in the past few months, actress Claire said: "I think for the first time in her life, she feels part of a family because she didn't have a good family set up with her mum when she was young. Her mum chucked her out. I think Cassie’s favourite thing is sitting on the sofa with the hustle and bustle of the kids getting ready for school, Tyrone getting himself sorted
