As a dramatic storyline kicked off in Coronation Street this week, Toyah Battersby heartbreakingly opened up about her harrowing past to Nick Tilsley as she explained how she had suffered a stillbirth as a teenager and buried her baby girl in the local park.
The unexpected revelation also came with a further dose of pain too, as Toyah tearfully revealed that the father of the baby was actually the man that had raped her back in 2001. Following the emotional confession, Toyah was determined to report it all to the police before the grave could be dug up in the ongoing search for missing teenager Lauren Bolton, but Nick managed to convince her to delay her actions before she admitted to something incriminating.
With the pair clearly bonding and supporting one and other, many viewers at home began to notice a clear chemistry simmering between Nick and Toyah, despite Nick being engaged to Toyah’s sister Leanne Battersby! Now, several viewers have predicted a torrid affair on the cards for the duo.
Taking to social media to share their thoughts, one fan wrote: “Nick and Toyah best not start some torrid affair through this.” A second fan then weighed in and commented: “Wonder if Nick and Toyah might have a thing? Nick is clearly drifting apart from Leanne, I'm not even sure he love her anymore.
Toyah is confiding in Nick about her trauma. Plus they're both on the same page about Leanne and this reality coding stuff.” A third fan then added: “If they make Nick sex up Toyah after all Lee/Nick have been through over the years and how much Toyah has hated Nick etc then i'll never ever forgive #corrie." A fourth viewer then commented: “When Nick’s being a good, kind shoulder to cry on he’s actually quite sexy!!” Before a fifth said:
