Bundobust - an independent Indian street food chain - has ingeniously turned a telling off from a food giant into a festive fundraiser.
The restaurant's holiday-themed Instagram post (26 November) stirred up trouble from their reimagining of the Bundo Christmas specials as a 'Spiceland Party Buffet'. Frozen food giant Iceland swiftly reacted by issuing a cease and desist letter, sparking some unexpected friction.
The original post gained attraction on social media with over 2000 likes - however, after the letter from Iceland was received, the post had to be removed.

Recognising the potential to turn what the venue called 'a slap on the wrist' into a positive initiative, the Bundobust team decided to leverage the situation for a greater cause. Now, the street food restaurant is running a Spiceland Swap Shop in aid of local food banks from today (14 December) until 23 December which offers free meal vouchers worth £35.
Customers eating at Bundobust between 14 - 23 December are invited to bring an Iceland gift card with a value of £20 or more and exchange it for a voucher for a free Combo or Vegan Combo for two worth £35, redeemable in January or February.
While all the Iceland gift cards will be donated to the local Trussell Trust food banks by Bundobust.
