A teenage boy accused of murdering Brianna Ghey said he was 'frightened' of the girl standing trial alongside him.
Brianna was found by dog walkers in Linear Park in Culcheth near Warrington at around 3pm on Saturday, February 11. Her bloodied body was found face down in mud, having been stabbed 28 times in the head, neck, back and chest, jurors have previously heard.
Girl X, from Culcheth, and Boy Y, from Leigh - who cannot be named for legal reasons - both deny murdering Brianna. On the seventh day of the trial at Manchester Crown Court, jurors watched a number of video recorded interviews which police conducted with Boy Y on February 14.

The interviewing officers questioned Boy Y about messages which he and Girl X shared prior to Brianna's death. Asked about one message, he said: "I say things that I don't actually believe. Cos I don't want to seem an outcast in the group, so I try to fit in."
Officers referenced a message in which Girl X allegedly said she wanted to 'kidnap and torture' someone. Boy Y replied to the message: "That does sound good, however it's most likely easier to sweep her off her feet than do that."
Speaking to police during one interview and referring to the messages, he said: "As you can see there I don't like to object to anything she says, I know that everything she says is random."
Asked why he didn't tell anyone after Girl X claimed that she'd killed someone, Boy Y said: "Because if she was lying then she tells a bunch of people and she was just lying about them, she's going to get into unnecessary
