Two teenagers have been found guilty of the 'frenzied and ferocious' murder of Brianna Ghey. Brianna, 16, a transgender girl, described as ‘beautiful, witty and hilarious’ by her family, was stabbed 28 times in broad daylight in a park near Warrington.
She had been lured to the park by a teenage girl who she believed was her friend. But Brianna had no idea that Girl X had secretly been plotting to kill her, with her friend Boy Y.
A handwritten note was discovered by police in her bedroom headed: “Saturday 11th February 2023. Victim: Brianna Ghey." Brianna was found dead by dog walkers in Culcheth Linear Park just after 3pm that day.
