A new behind-the-scenes snap of EastEnders favourites Perry Fenwick and Tony Clay has really got soap fans talking. Photos of the pair reading scripts on the EastEnders set were shared to the BBC soap's Instagram account.
Tony, 32, portrays Callum Highway in the soap, while Perry, 61, plays Billy Mitchell.
The duo looked to be in good spirits as they studied new scripts together on the Walford market. "We wonder what scene they're reading...
#EastEnders," the caption read. Fans flocked to share their theories, with many looking for clues about upcoming storylines, in particular Ben Mitchell's mystery exit. Actor Max Bowden, who plays Ben, will be leaving EastEnders later this year.
Details surrounding the character's exit storyline have not yet been revealed. As Ben is happily married to Callum, many fans have been wondering what his departure will mean for their relationship as it is understood that Callum won't be leaving. Commenting on the photos of Tony and Perry, many fans shared their theories and thoughts on Ben's exit and hopes for Callum's character.
One person said: "Oh this is lovely. Great to see Callum still in with the Mitchells and still wearing his wedding ring. Bring his husband back soon, please.
They need each other." A second wrote: "I'm glad to see Tony/Callum still with the Mitchells.
Max Bowden has been phenomenal as Ben. He's given him such nuance and heart... Max is one of the all-time greats in my opinion.
He made the role his own. I hope he can return one day." "Callum still wearing his ring.... Not sure if that's significant, depends when filming," a third wrote.
