EastEnders fans are convinced they've worked out which character reported Denise Fox to the hospital amid her mental health battle after Thursday evening's explosive episode. Jack found his wife wandering through the woods and she begged him to protect her from the devil - who she claimed was Johnny Carter who wants to kill her - but she was later carted off to hospital.
Denise has been spiralling with her mental health since witnessing the murder of Keanu Taylor at Christmas - at the hands of Linda Carter. Fans will recall how Linda tried to stop Keanu from strangling Sharon Watts and there were six women at the scene of the crime, with them making a pact to conceal the murder afterwards.
During Thursday's episode, Denise claimed Johnny was "working for the devil" as she experienced disturbing hallucinations and tried to escape. Denise was eventually brought back home by Jack amid her breakdown and while Stacey and Denise's daughter Chelsea told Jack that they needed to call the mental health team, he refused.
After promising his wife that she wouldn't let anyone send her away, Jack insisted she just needed to rest for the night. However, later on in the episode, there was a knock at the door which was revealed to be three people from the local mental health team.
They claimed someone had called to say there was a person at risk at the address.
Jack explained that he hadn't made the call and sheepishly nodded as he agreed she was a mental health risk. One of the doctors asked her: "You seem really traumatised Denise, has something happened to upset you recently?" Appearing confused, she replied: "Yes," before adding: "They did it, not me.
Tell him, it wasn't me." She then explained that she was talking about "the devil."
