Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger wants £225,000-a-week to stay at Stamford Bridge amid transfer interest from Manchester City - according to reports.
Having coasted to a third Premier League title in four seasons, key figures in the Etihad Stadium boardroom broke the nine-figure barrier to sign £100million man Jack Grealish from Aston Villa - but they were priced out of a follow-up move for England captain Harry Kane last summer.
Tottenham dug their heels in over a valuation for the three-time Golden Boot winner.
Kane reluctantly pledged his future to the north Londoners as a result.
He might resurface as a target with one eye on the summer transfer window, while Borussia Dortmund sensation Erling Haaland continues to attract interest from City and other elite European clubs as a £64million release clause prepares to activate in his contract.
Aside from pursuing a top-level frontman, Pep Guardiola has been credited with a strong interest in Blues centre-back Rudiger as he enters the final months of his contract in west London.
Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Manchester United are also thought to be monitoring the Germany man.
Amid that interest, The Athletic are reporting Rudiger and his representatives have increased their wage demands from his current £100,000-a-week agreement to a staggering £225,000-a-week with a signing-on fee.
Elsewhere, clubs across the Premier League - including City and United - are thought to have been handed a huge boost when it comes to chasing Haaland.
