Former Doctor Who and EastEnders actress Ann Davies has passed away at the age of 87. Her agent Barry Langford confirmed: "Sadly my lovely client of 34 years Ann Davies passed away yesterday. "A superb actress with TV credits including #DoctorWho and #TheSculptress, Ann was devoted to her beloved late husband #RichardBriers and their daughters Lucy and Kate.
"She will be very much missed. #RIP Annie". Ann was married to the late actor Richard Briers, who starred in The Good Life.
She was also mother to daughters Lucy Briers and daughter Katie Briers, who both followed their parents into acting. Ann had a celebrated career in the industry, having appeared alongside William Hartnell as the character Jenny in Doctor Who's The Dalek Invasion of Earth. She also took on the role of Mrs Singleton in Grange Hill in 1998 and, in 2003, appeared in an episode of Doctors.
Ann also acted alongside her husband in the 1992 film Peter's Friends and the 1995's Bleak Midwinter. Together, they appeared in the radio adaptation of the TV series Brothers in Law. Ann lived in Chiswick, West London, with her husband Richard until he passed away in 2013 at the age of 79.
Six years before his death, he had been diagnosed with emphysema. Ann and Richard's daughter Lucy starred in the ITV detective series Endeavour and The Bill, Doctors and Silent Witness. She also played Mary Bennet in the 1995 adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.Tributes poured in for Ann following the tragic news she had passed away.
