Princess Anne has again been given a key role at Saturday's Trooping the Colour, as a token of appreciation for her years of unwavering loyalty.
The Princess Royal, 73, will join the procession on 15 June as the esteemed 'Gold-Stick-in-Waiting', a title given to the person who is responsible for the personal safety of the monarch. The siblings have always had a close bond since their childhood, with Charles often envious of Anne's close relationship with their late father, Prince Philip.
Royal sources also revealed that Charles frequently seeks advice from his trusted sister and appreciates her straightforward approach. A palace insider stated: "The direction of the King's decision is clear for all to see." "He is rewarding the Princess Royal for her loyalty and her unwavering devotion to duty above all else." "The King values his sister as a trusted lieutenant and this is the perfect example of such a relationship." The prestigious title of 'Gold-Stick-in-Waiting' harks
