After six years solving murders on Saint Marie, DI Neville Parker (played by Ralf Little) has called it a day. He left the island on a boat and sailed into the sunset with DS Florence Cassell (Joséphine Jobert).
The whole episode teased a ‘will they, won’t they’ ending for Neville and Florence - and up until the last minute it looked like Neville would be leaving alone as he rejected Florence who put her feelings out on the line. Neville was sticking to the plan to go solo travelling, however as he prepared to leave, he was pulled over by DS Naomi Thomas (Shantol Jackson), Officer Darlene Curtis (Ginny Holder), Officer Dwayne Myers (Danny John-Jules) and Catherine Bordey (Élizabeth Bourgine), who they questioned why he was letting Florence go.
Neville then chased Florence down to the ferry insisting to give romance a chance. Neville told her: “I don't need promises, I don’t need guarantees, if the unknown is all you have to offer, then that’s good enough for me. Whatever happens, wherever it leads, all I want is for us to take a leap together.” During the final episode of the series, Neville was left with what he called ‘one last case’ when a man called Kurt Henderson, went missing after boarding the plane.
Kurt was then found dead on the Saint Marie beach. Wanting to see the case through, Neville returned to Saint Marie where he finally bumped into Florence. During the episode Florence asked to spend time with Neville, however, he was hesitant to start a romance again after being hurt before.
