After a glittering, foot-tapping, smile-inducing week one, Strictly Come Dancing is back for week two of the competition - and it's about to get serious. Last Saturday night's show saw all 15 couples perform together for the first time.
While they performed for the judges' scores, they won't receive votes from the viewers of the BBC One dance contest until the lines open during week two of the competition on Saturday (September 30) with the first elimination of the 2023 run taking place on Sunday (October 1).
Week one offered a spectacular string of performances with Nigel topping the leaderboard on Saturday after he closed the programme with a dramatic pasodoble. Dressed as a circus ringmaster, the Casualty actor finished his fierce routine to Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana by swirling a cape, landing him and Katya an impressive first-week score of 32.

Meanwhile, EastEnders star Bobby Brazier, Bad Education’s Layton Williams, Sherlock actress Amanda Abbington and former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach all finished joint second with a score of 29. And veteran broadcaster Angela Rippon, 78, showed off her famous flexibility during an energetic cha cha, ending the routine to Dame Shirley Bassey’s version of Pink’s Get The Party Started with an impressive high kick, landing her a score of 28 and leaving her at third place in the current standings.
But the leaderboard could all change when the couples return to the ballroom on Saturday night, September 30, with all the action kicking off at 6.20pm on BBC One.
