EXCLUSIVE: Wanda Banda has joined the cast of Netflix‘s South African teen crime drama Blood & Water.
The show’s fourth season has been shooting in South Africa over recent months and premieres on March 1. The Woman King actress Banda joins a cast also including Ama Qamata, Khosi Ngema and Thabang Molaba.
Blood & Water is set in Cape Town and follows a working-class girl who transfers to the elite Pankhurst School when she begins to suspect one of its students is her sister, who was abducted as part of a child trafficking network shortly after birth.
Season 4 was unveiled as part of Netflix’s content showcase in September last year. The show comes from writer and director Nosipho Dumisa and Gambit Films.
Banda made her film debut in Gina Prince-Bythewood’s feature The Woman King, playing a young version of Viola Davis’ lead character. She has just wrapped indie film Utopia and a series regular role in Showmax series Plan B.
She will play a key role in Heart of the Hunter, the upcoming Netflix spy thriller based on Deon Meyer’s novel. Mandla Dube (Silverton Siege), who has a multi-project deal with the streamer, is directing.
Banda is represented by manager Steven Adams at Alta Global Media.

Seo In-guk has announced his first-ever fanmeeting tour of the US, with two stops announced so far.The US tour was announced by his agency Story J Company earlier today (February 23), and will mark the singer-actor’s first time touring the US since he debuted as a singer and an actor in the early-2010s.According to Story J, Seo In-guk will “communicate closely with fans through various game segments with a colourful stage to speak with his fans, who will be able to learn more about Seo In-guk as a human being”. The star will also be performing “several hit songs” during his shows.Seo’s fanmeeting tour will take place in late April, with the first show to be held in Los Angeles’ Saban Theater on April 22 and the second to be held in Washington D.C.’s Lisner Auditorium the next day.

Naman Ramachandran Film and TV studio Fifth Season has secured international distribution rights to “Monsieur Spade,” the crime drama series starring and executive produced by Clive Owen.
