For the unversed, the friends' group includes Bangtan Boy Kim Taehyung, Itaewon Class star Park Seo Joon, Korean artist Peakboy, Parasite actor Choi Woo Shik, and singer Park Hyun Sik.

Say 여보세요 to the prestigious 56th Baeksang Arts Awards, which is the Korea equivalent of the Oscars. It's one of the biggest nights for Korean celebrities, whose brilliant performances in 2019 will be honoured.

In less than 24 hours, the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards winners list will be announced. The annual awards show, dubbed as the Oscars of South Korea, released the nominations list last month. While Parasite bagged well-deserved nominations on the movie front, there is a tough competition on the K-Drama front. The awards show will take place on June 5 at the Korea International Exhibition Centre (KINTEX) in Ilsanseo Gu of Gyeonggi Province. It is hosted by Suzy Bae, Park Bo Gum, and Shin Dong Yup.

Earlier this week, TWICE released the music video of MORE & MORE. While ONCE members have showered the Korean girl band with love over the video, the singers found themselves in a soup when an international artist accused the makers of replicating his art installation in their video.

Park Seo Joon climbed another step on the ladder of success this week. The actor has had a memorable year until now. Seo Joon has received love for his act in Itaewon Class. As he dives deep into his upcoming flick with IU, the actor revealed he has received the YouTube Gold Play Button. The actor received the honour after his YouTube channel surpassed the one million subscriber mark. The actor took to YouTube and did a special unboxing of his Gold Play Button. 

Korean movies and dramas have always been a source of inspiration for storyline purposes from all across the world but it took Bong Joon-ho's Parasite to finally get it the recognition that it sorely deserved for decades. At the Oscars 2020, Parasite made history as not only the first non-English language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture but also the first movie from South Korea to win Best International Feature Film.

2020 has seen an interesting turn of events for the entertainment industry as people are relying on them to be distracted during the quarantine period, which was enforced by the coronavirus pandemic. K-dramas in particular has seen an upsurge, in the recent few years, when it comes to global consumption as international fans can't get enough of the shows.

While Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun's chemistry in the spotlight of The King: Eternal Monarch, fans are enjoying Woo Do Hwan's bond with Min Ho and Go Eun off-screen as well. The actor plays dual roles in the show. In the Republic of Korea, the actor essays the role of Jo Eun-Sup, a happy-go-lucky public worker, who shares a little brother like relationship with Go Eun's Jung Tae Eul. Several South Korean pop singers, including BTS singer Jungkook, have come under fire after reports revealed the pop idols were spotted in Itaewon a few weeks ago. JK along with ASTRO singer Cha Eunwoo, NCT member Jaehyun and SEVENTEEN‘s Mingyu were spotted enjoying a night out in the neighborhood of Itaewon, which became the hotspot for the recent resurgence of the coronavirus in South Korea.

Creating a stir amongst several Korean dramas is The World of the Married and it's for all the right reasons! Starring Kim Hee-ae as Ji Sun-woo, Park Hae-joon as Lee Tae-oh and Han So-hee as Yeo Da-kyung in the lead roles, this spicy K-drama looks into a love triangle where a married couple's life is turned upside down when the husband begins having an affair with another woman.
