The Marvels director Nia DaCosta has revealed how the K-drama Itaewon Class led her to cast Park Seo-joon in the upcoming film.DaCosta recently spoke to South Korea film magazine Cine21 ahead of the release of The Marvels in the East Asian country on November 8. During the interview, she revealed how she ended up casting Park Seo-joon in the film.The 33-year-old director, known for her work on 2018’s Little Woods and 2021’s Candyman sequel, said that it started during the COVID-19 pandemic when she rediscovered her love for K-drama.“I love K-dramas.

2020 may have been a dull year for almost all of us but at least K-drama enthusiasts have had an array of shows to watch while on quarantine mode. Whether it be local or international fans.

There's also the fact that he's extremely good looking and could give any actor a run for their money when it came to his exceptional acting chops. 2020 has seen an interesting turn of events for the entertainment industry as people are relying on them to be distracted during the quarantine period, which was enforced by the coronavirus pandemic. K-dramas in particular has seen an upsurge, in the recent few years, when it comes to global consumption as international fans can't get enough of the shows.

The Korean entertainment industry released a slew of dramas and movies that bowled over the audience not only in South Korea but also among international Korean viewers. On the film front, the biggest film of the year is undoubtedly Parasite, which also bagged four prestigious awards at the Oscars 2020.

It has been a fairly good year for K-Drama. After we were treated to Crash Landing On You and Itaewon Class, fans of South Korean drama shows will be presented The King: Eternal Monarch. The show starts this weekend. The SBS show is extra special for it sees Lee Min Ho return to acting after his military service. Legends of the Blue Sea actor stars opposite Kim Go Eun on the show. The song has been titled Sweet Night and has finally found its way online and it ignites all kinds of emotions.
